Due to popular demand, we bring you a few more simple and common sense travel tips to make your stay away from home smoother and easier.

It goes without saying, but you would be surprised at how many people don’t plan their vacations well. Going to South Carolina? Literally google “things to do in Rock Hill, SC” or something similar, and voila! Plans made. Using articles like this make it easy to make a flexible, easy to follow vacation plan.

Duty free?

Here’s a dirty little secret that all experienced travelers know: You never save any money by purchasing duty free items at international airports. Whether in Tokyo or London, those duty free ‘bargains’ you’re hankering after all have an expensive catch — an airport tax.

Wear loafers

On a long trip you may have several stopovers, and many international airports now demand extra security checks, so you may be asked to take off your shoes several times. So wear loafers, of something easy to take off and put on. But try to avoid your bedroom slippers.

Never put valuables in your luggage

This should be a no-brainer, but people still stuff their luggage with valuable documents, cash, expensive prescriptions, and so on. When that luggage gets lost (and the law of averages guarantees it will someday) those foolish folks are in a heap of trouble. If you can’t live without it, then it goes in your carry-on. Period.

Keep your boarding pass

Not as a memento of a wonderful trip, but in case the airline messes up on your frequent flier miles. Then all you do is wave the boarding pass in front of their noses to get it fixed.
